The Automotive Industry Institute PIMOT® was found by Polish Council of Ministers in 1972, as the automotive industry Research and Development unit.

PIMOT`s lines of activity cover scientific, R&D works and automotive products testing services. Institute is a separate and independent unit. It makes an unquestionable basic for impartiality of its opinion and test result obtained.

STAND FOR THE TESTING OF BRAKE SERVOS
Model AB-778
 
The stand is designed for the testing of vacuum brake servos complete with master cylinders ('brake power units') or servos alone within the scope of: vacuum leak tests at ambient temperatures with or without load, efficiency ratio with and without vacuum, checking of the absorption of brake pedal travel by a servo unit, and measuring of the force, delivery, and/or output power characteristics of the unit tested.
 
 The test stand includes:
  • Hydraulic system to precisely operate a brake servo/master cylinder unit;
  • Pneumatic system to precisely control test conditions;
  • Testing and control system to run test procedures in automatic (pre-programmed) or manual modes.
 
 
STAND FOR THE TESTING OF BRAKE CALLIPER SLIDING FORCE

 The stand is designed for the testing of the sliding force of hydraulic disc brake callipers of passenger cars, pickups, and delivery vans.
 
 The test stand includes: 
  • Pneumatic system to precisely control test conditions;
  • Testing and control system to run test procedures in automatic (pre-programmed) or manual modes.
 
HANDBRAKE TESTING STAND

The stand is designed for the testing of handbrake systems with drum brake mechanisms of passenger cars and trucks of up to 3.5 tons capacity within the scope of: durability, performance of the mechanical system, and fatigue strength.
 
The test stand includes: 
  • Pneumatic system to precisely control test conditions;
  • Hydraulic system;
  • Testing and control system to run test procedures in automatic (pre-programmed) or manual modes.
 
MULTIPURPOSE STAND FOR THE TESTING OF BRAKE CALLIPERS
Model AB-781
 
 
 The stand is designed for the testing of hydraulic disc brake callipers of passenger cars, pickups, and delivery vans within the scope of: leakage, residual torque, hydraulic displacement, piston movement starting pressure, roll-back, and piston return load.
 
 The test stand includes: 
  • Set of fixtures to fasten callipers of any type in compliance with orderer’s requirements;
  • Hydraulic system to precisely operate the callipers;
  • Pneumatic system to precisely operate the pressure-generating cylinders and the hydraulic system;
  • Testing and control system to run test procedures in automatic (pre-programmed) or manual modes.
 
STAND FOR THE TESTING OF BRAKE POWER UNITS AND THEIR COMPONENTS

The stand is designed for performance tests of brake power units, vacuum brake servos, and master cylinders.
 
The test stand includes:
  • Compressed air system for tank leak tests;
  • High vacuum system to operate brake servos;
  • Two test bays with electrical linear drive systems;
  • Testing and control system to run test procedures in automatic (pre-programmed) or manual modes.
 
 
VEHICLE SPEED MEASURING KIT
“FIFTH WHEEL”
 
The “fifth wheel” test kit is designed for the measuring of vehicle speed and braking distance in conditions close to those encountered during normal vehicle operation. The kit is used to measure braking efficiency during field tests and is installed on the automotive vehicle under test.
 
The test kit includes: 
  • Testing and measuring part, which enables the operator to measure vehicle speed, brake pedal effort, air pressure in the braking system, vehicle deceleration, etc.
  • Recording part, comprising laptop computer with Lab View software, docking station with a measurement record sheet, pickup signal collecting connector.
  
OPTICAL EXTENSOMETER 'OPEX'

Possible applications of the OPEX system: 
  • Specimen elongation measurements on strength testing machines;
  • Displacement control of strength testing machines;
  • Elongation measurements on special specimens (chains, cables, towing attachments, etc.);
  • Elongation measurements on specimens that are difficult to access.
